With the Structures Plus mod, you can easily work around this and fix all of these issues at once.

How cool would it be to travel from one location of the Ark to the other with a giant mysterious teleporter that you walk into? With this mod, you can easily traverse the island and get around easier with stargates, avoiding the dangerous rexes and raptors.
